Happy Summer!

Mustangs,

This is it! The moment where we all leave for vacation, celebrate our past experiences, and for some, move forward with our plans for the future.

Whether you are coming back next year for another incredible time at TXVA or possibly have graduated with the first class of 2013, we can't help but say just how PROUD we are of all of you! You made it through all those tests, assignments and everything else that may have caused you stress and now you are able to reap the benefits in which you have sewed! CONGRATS!!!

Here is some last updates for you all, before you all go off for your awesome vacay's:

Yearbooks will be sent out sometime in August. HOWEVER, we are trying to make that to JULY being that we will be done with the book very soon. But we need your guys help in order to do that. =) And how? It's simple!

If you know someone or possibly have been/attended the Houston graduation, there was a photographer taking pictures of all the awesome seniors! In the diploma case each senior received  there may have been a card from that photographer with a link to access the pictures that he took. We want to be able and include not just the DFW and Online ceremonies, but the Houston one as well. However, we will not be able to do that without pictures or enough pictures to make up a page. *sniffle, sniffle*

So our last request from you awesome mustangs! If you please know that link, or possibly know someone who does, send a message to txvayearbook@gmail.com ASAP and help us all remember the Houston ceremony together. =) As it goes, it is one moment we never want to forget, and because of that, we want everyone to share it with the graduated seniors, too.

We wish you all the best Summer and Futures ahead of you! See you next year!!

Final Exam Review Week - YEARBOOK SPECIAL SURPRISE

Hello Mustangs!

As many of you already know, this week is known as TXVA's Final Review Week / Senior Final's Week (A.K.A. the stress-fullest week of our entire year). So, on behalf of all you stressed out students, the yearbook staff wanted to send you some cheerio fun and to remind you to never forget to spend some time and take a moment to laugh. =)

Final Review Week
by TXVA Yearbook

Finals are here, and we know what that means,
We study and stress until we start to turn green.
Writing equations and memorizing formulas,
Going berserk while we pray for the hallelujahs.

Teachers are grading during the midst of the night,
while students are studying and becoming a frightful sight.
Can we help it if our eyes have turn red?
If our hair has become wild, and our minds suddenly widespread?

Widespread with all knowledge from last year until now,
What can they expect from us, when we all start to growl?
We don't like this stress, or this unexpected struggle,
To turn in our work as fast as a popped bubble.

But now there is no choice, monster-student and all,
we must carry forward, we must prevail through this hull!
For I know you can do it, we have done it before,
All our teachers are cheering as we race for miraculous scores!

So bring in some coffee, some tea and some snacks,
turn into that monster-student, even if it means biting back.
Because we students, can never fail our studies,
for we have finally made it this far,
and I know we will rejoice at the end, with all of our buddies.

THE END.

We know you guys can do this, and we are cheering for all of you! Don't forget to tell your parents that with all your hard work, to help purchase one of TXVA's awesome yearbook as a congrats gift for the end of the year! =) Only 23 books remains!! Get your copy today while you can!

Holding faith in you all always,
The TXVA Yearbook Staff

A Yearbook Good Luck!

Hello Mustangs!

We know many of you are probably in the midst of studying those last cram sessions of TAKS and STAAR testing prep! So, on behalf of today, we just wanted to take a moment and say.....

Preparing today for the standardized test
our teacher said there was a lot to digest.
We'd have to divide by the square root of three
and learn to spell zygote, façade and marquis.

We'd need to play xylophone, trumpet and flute,
accordion, banjo, piano and lute,
recite all the capital cities by heart
and learn to take rocketship engines apart.

We'd have to speak Latin, Swahili and Greek,
learn nuclear fusion and fencing technique,
remember the fables of Persia and Rome
and crack all the codes in the human genome.

Then just when we thought that our heads might explode
from learning Chinese or dissecting a toad
she told us the very best thing she could say:
that she was just kidding; it's April Fool's Day.
--Kenn Nesbitt

Okay, so we obviously know you didn't have to learn Latin, or April fool's...LOL. BUT we do know that you all will do awesome and we know this because Students at TXVA don't ever quit! =) We stand strong, and determined and we know that you guys will have wonderful success for these state tests! =) Our prayers, thoughts, and luck is with you all!

And remember: go celebrate by purchasing your yearbook/prom tickets/ and submitting pictures from state testing events! Show us just how successful you can be during these awesome times! =)

Having faith always in each of you,

Yearbook "Sneak Peek" Pt. 3 Revealed

Alright Mustangs!

Today is the day where all these riddles will FINALLY make some sense! =) But before we show you what they all meant, lets take a quick review of each one:

Riddle #1:

This page may lay between a couple of yearbook pages.
One that is made for not the youngest in the school,
but possibly those who may be graduating.

It contains thoughtful insights, and yet, hilarious outcomes.
However, can you guess just what or to whom it belongs?

Riddle #2:

I can describe your thoughts and directions, before one leaves.
I can guide your decisions, before you freak!
I can be quite helpful, if you only gave me the chance.
However, in the end, its all just for laughs.

Riddle #3:

I'm one who's filled with color,
I have arrows pointing every which way.
My directions may seem pointless now,
But in the end, I'll lead the way!

Make any sense yet? Well, if not, no worries! =) Here is the revealing for this week!

Until next time fellow Mustangs, the TXVA Yearbook Staff has once again saved the day and we wish you all, a very happy weekend and a glorious hooray! LOL =p

Let YOUR voice be heard!

Hello Mustangs!

Guess what? Want to be apart of yearbook by putting YOUR input and voice to be heard through the mass of all the students, teachers, and administration? Well, now's your chance! The links below are the surveys and polls that the Yearbook team would love to hear YOUR feedback on. Whether its about how you spend your spare time or if you would want to be a pilgrim at the first Thanksgiving, your voice will be heard and added to the vote! And the best part is, your votes will be published in the yearbook for your friends and yourself to share, compare, and enjoy the results of the majority from your fellow classmates, teachers, and administration!

Click each link below to take the survey and be apart of something that will make everyone understand just what each of our opinions truly are!

Student Surveys: (note that each one takes less than 5 minutes!)

Teachers and Staff: (note that it only takes less than 5 minutes!)

*remember to purchase your yearbook today to see the results! And keep a lookout for our next blog on "Quotes"! Your personal voice and name could be seen on the pages. Stay tuned to find out how, soon! :)

Portrait Photo Guidelines

Hello Mustangs!

Here is your update as far as how and what to do to send our TXVA yearbook staff's YOUR awesome portrait picture! Our goal is to achieve a unifying appearance of all pictures within the yearbook. Please follow the guidelines below:

1) Student must be centered in the photo facing the camera, both eyes visible.

2) Pose must be a waist-up shot.  No full body shots. No hands near face—arms and hands should not be above the waist.  No knees blocking the body.
•Student must be sitting or standing.  No photos of students laying on the ground, sitting on the ground, etc.

3) Senior clothing and jewelry must fit school dress code guidelines and be “school appropriate”.

4) No props (animals, hats, sunglasses, cars, sports equipment, musical instruments or additional people in the photo).  No weapons.

5) Backgrounds (trees, rocks, columns, etc.) should not block the view of the student.

6) Background must be simple and uncluttered.  Blank color background (against a blank wall for instance) is preferred.

7) No texture, name stamping, embossing, or date stamp.

8) Photo must be vertical.  No horizontal photos.

9) Submit photo in digital format.  All photos must print at 300 dpi in resolution and saved as a JPG file.  Photos files must be named  with student’s first AND last name and grade level.

**IMPORTANT!: You MUST ‘tag’ your photo as “Portrait” that you want us to use for the portrait section. If you don’t tag it, we won’t know that is the one you want us to use.**

If you have any questions regarding the guidelines, please kmail Ms.Fyffe! We are doing our best with what we have and we appreciate all those who have followed the guidelines so far! Keep up the good work! =)
